Did you know that some sleep deprived people board their windows?

sleeping-woman[1]It is true! – some third shift workes are so sleep deprived that they have resorted to boarding up their windows to sleep better – but this is a fire hazard! Please never never resort to this but instead invest in a good pair of blackout curtains as these are not only flame resistant but also provide the necessary darkness to sleep even in daylight.

And if you need to carry the benefits of these full size drapes while travelling why not invest in the blackout curtains to go kit – from http://www.blackout-curtain-togo.com

They provide the ability to turn hotel room drapes in to almost blackout curtains and only weight 30 oz at the most!

Where have all the sleep deprived people gone?

To see if he was normal or not; here is what I found on Mercola.com

“Sleep in complete darkness or as close as possible. If there is even the tiniest bit of light in the room it can disrupt your circadian rhythm and your pineal gland’s production of melatonin and seratonin. There also should be as little light in the bathroom as possible if you get up in the middle of the night. Please whatever you do, keep the light off when you go to the bathroom at night. As soon as you turn on that light you will for that night immediately cease all production of the important sleep aid melatonin….”

So we ARE supposed to sleep in total darkness – wonder why I dont mind the light a little bit? Must be because I need to drink water in the middle of the night – Then go to the bathroom – then look up why my toddler cried – and horrors! stub my toe on the toy that I couldnt see on the floor and yell so loud my husband puts the light on anyway! Well if you can do it I say go for it!

Do you know of somebody who cant sleep with lights on?

Well I have a friend who needs to sleep in total darkness – he constantly travels and one of his pet peeves is that whatever he pays for a hotel stay – not cheap motels – he is constantly bothered by light pollution.

What is light pollution you might ask? – so did I!

He defined it as light that that is unwanted in the room – like lED lights and under the door light that creaps in to the room that you can read a book with and also the parking lot ligths that drench the room with lights even if you close the curtains – they seem to leave bright cracks on the sides and the middle where the curtains somehow never seem to close

The lights from the clock freak him out as well as the lights that come when his phone charges and he needs to keep an alarm – so he came up with an idea of a travelling kit to address this issues – with reuseable stickers.

His site is currently under constuction however  you can ask anything from him buy going to his site!
